Featured guest on The Secret Lives of Men
On Tuesday, 9/22, at 2 PM CST, I’ll be the featured guest on Dr. Chris Blazina’s Internet radio show, The Secret Lives of Men, to discuss my first book, Iron Man Family Outing. I’ll talk a bit about the development of the book, share a few of the poems, and visit with Chris about how the material in the book can provide an entry point into emotional and psychological states that are often difficult for men to access, and why that might be important. We’ll also talk briefly about my just-completed second book, Scapegoat’s Cross.
If you’re unable to listen live, the show will be available for replay or download (as an MP3 file) as an “on demand” episode at The Secret Lives of Men, and also as a complimentary iTune at the Apple Store.
Update (09/22/09): Wow! What a great experience this was for me. I talked with Chris about the development of the book, shared and discussed one of the poems (“little iron man”), and spoke about how the material in the book can provide a useful pattern or template for other men to access their own feelings. After concluding his interview with me, Chris continued his discussion of the book in a brief conversation with Dr. Ryan McKelley of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Chris made me feel very welcome and I really enjoyed being his guest on the show. It was, I think, an interesting program for the listeners as well, and I hope you’ll check it out.
