fallen again
now I am fallen
detached from my dreams
knocked down and broken
for reasons unknown.
fallen again
struck down from above
a thunderbolt thrown
from the father god’s hand.
the tower falls
when the lightning strikes
strength turns to weakness
in a flash.
the trap is sprung
the door slams shut
a sharp sudden wind
blows out the flame.
what is security
what is hope
what does it mean to be safe.
a slip of the foot
and the climber slides
down the mountainside
all the way down
from the sky to the bottom.
I saw the sky
but it was a tease
I thought I was flying
but I was falling.
am I unlucky
am I damned
am I doomed
to keep falling and falling.
